Is SEO just being listed in search engines?
No, SEO is appearing before your competitor in search engines pages

I was just looking at a website for sale on an auction here in New Zealand, and it said
“It has full SEO and listed with Google, Yahoo, Live, NZ Search, Finda, Wises" The last three places are obviously NZ specific search engines.

Simply being listed in a search engine does NOT mean a website has seo and certainly not Full SEO. It simply means it's listed in search engines.

Most websites that have been online for a while can be found in search engines. The owner that is selling the site says he has been running the site for 1 year.

All that is required to appear in a search engines is 1 live link, that's a link you can click on and it takes you to the website, and the website the way it is, and search engines the way they are your site will appear in search engines.

Just being in a search engine is no big deal, it’s where your websites pages are listed in search engines that's the big deal. Being on page 25 or 50 isn't going to do your website any good at all, no-one is going to look through even 10 pages of other sites selling the same thing you are just to find your website, would you do that, of course not, I only ever get to page 2 about once every 2-300 searches, when I'm looking for something thats really important, and have never looked on page 3 of a 10 per page of search results.

This particular website was one selling computer parts, in a city near the bottom of a New Zealand called Invercargill. I just did a search for these relevant searches

  • Computer parts Invercargill
  • Computers Invercargill
  • Invercargill computersSEO is about links from search engines, to your website
  • Invercargill computers parts
  • gateway laptop computers Invercargill
  • gateway laptop Invercargill

And several other searches, just out of sheer desperation.... and I looked all those words were on some of the main pages of the site, which should mean that if for instance Invercargill was on one page, and gateway and laptop were on another page, both pages should have shown up.

I did these searches in Google.co.nz and for neither the search the web, or search pages from New Zealand was this website within the first 100 listings, I did check, and 365 pages on this website have been indexed by Google, so that's not the problem.

    So what is Full SEO?

There is no such thing as full seo that would mean that any search anyone could ever think of to do with buying computers would mean that the site would show up highly in the search results.

But even some or good optimization or SEO where a list of many or even a few very relevant search phrases should rank well would be an honest statement, that the site had Full SEO.

So when the new owners do a search for their website they will at least have one website that is linking to their one, I’ll put a link on one of the phrases above. Oh and by the way, if you ever happen to see this article, write to me, I'll give you a discount on doing your SEO, just for giving me a subject for a blog post, and this article on my site. It actually wouldn't cost that much to do with that many pages. Check out what this client said, and she has about the same number of pages as you do. SEO Clients says about my SEO Skills. She now has almost 900 relevant search phrases that has her site listed in the top 10 of google, and other wearch engines.

But was the statement ignorance or deception
